Granted, as of this writing, I have approximately 98 GB of scanned photos and documents of the greater Lenawee County area - that is a mere dent in what is out there. The most common requests I get are for pictures of one's house 100 years ago and complete genealogy on this or that family. There is no big red button there, just a bunch of smaller ones. Still, the short proceedings made for interesting reading, although I had to access multiple platforms to get the complete story. My ancestor had a stellar reputation, while the accuser was known for deflection and hand-in-the-cookie-jar moments.
During a recent trial subscription, I was able to find two sets of newspapers that detailed the 1875 arrest, trial and acquittal of my great-great-grandfather of "robbing the mails" while serving as a postal clerk. Unfortunately, not all newspapers are yet scanned, and, in some instances, they are only available under different pay databases. More newspapers are also going online, scanned with the ability to be searched by keyword.
