So it apparently should be able to be got going under Linux.

Even there it's really a driver version issue. These consoles still work - in fact I use one to this day - but require the building of a simple adaptor cable. He is based in Melbourne, Australia and you will need to arrange shipping yourself. I've also checked the release notes, and the only OS that has any issues with the console is OS-X on the Mac. I have a contact who has a mark I serial console that he is prepared to give free to a good home. I notice that in the shop the current console version is listed, with the only disclaimer being that it's only available to Pro users - no OS limitations are mentioned. Not a lot of help, I know, but I hope that it's useful information. Something similar would probably need to be present on Linux as well. In my Windows versions there's a file called LwConsole.dll and another called LwConsole.lwd. You will still need the console driver software at the Lightworks end. the former is the one that needs to be uploaded to the mark I console.

Check to see if in the Lightworks program directory or in any supporting directories there are files called something like lwmoucon.ram and vipcons.ram. One thing that you would have to do is upload the operating software into the console before it will do anything. You may have to come with a way of manually setting up the console yourself. There is a console setup program available for download, but it appears to be only Windows-based. Dan, I don't know whether Linux support for the console has been implemented or not.
